Fountain Square Winter Engagement Session
// Caitlyn + Jason
Four years ago when I was just starting out as a photographer one of my very first engagement sessions was in Fountain Square. I haven’t had a chance to photograph there since.
Until now.
I always love when couples choose meaningful places for their engagement session locations. It’s like a little added look into who they are as a couple or what is important and meaningful to them. Locations encompass that, holding so many memories.
Caitlyn + Jason actually met in a punk club that now is home to La Margarita. They lived in Fountain Square for many years of dating and then living together before buying a house and moving further away from the city. So Fountain Square is a special place for them.
They were total troopers for our 2 hour session out in the cold. Thankfully we lucked out and after a few weeks in the negatives, temperatures in the thirties felt pretty comfortable. At least for the first half of the shoot.
I don’t think I’ve mentioned much on how much I love winter engagement sessions — Snow on the ground, cooler temperatures that make snuggling in close together comfortable, a quietness outside -even in the city, as most people stay tucked away from the cold.
It’s crazy how much a place can change in four years. There was so much that was different and yet, still so much that really hadn’t changed much.
And I really like that.
