Autumn Couples Session

I met up with Amber + Ron at the pinnacle of vibrant fall foliage at one of my favorite places. Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park is a place I frequent A LOT. (You probably already know this if you have followed my work for any period of time.)
It has so much variety and of course during prime fall, tons of beautiful trees. Every time I shoot here, I feel like it looks different. It never feels like I’m at the same place. AND every session ends up feeling like it’s own unique thing.
We lucked out with gorgeous creamy overcast lighting until the end of the session when the sun came out. I don’t do a lot of morning sessions, but this one made me want to incorporate more into my regular shooting. We started off the morning incorporating their three ADORABLE boys into some of the photos. Afterwards we headed over to the pond, just the two of them. Once we exhausted the fall foliage reflecting on the water, we went over to what has become my favorite spot in the whole park for the last bit of the session. It’s a hilly clearing with tall grasses which is surrounded by trees. It feels secluded and private. Like a herd of deer might stumble through the background at any second (which would totally be my dream shoot.)
