It’s pretty difficult to put into words how amazing it was to be a part of Kellie + Chris’s wedding day. I knew from the beginning of our correspondences together, when Kellie mentioned she was willing to “trudge through fields” for good photos that we were going to get along just fine.
Little did I know at that time, their wedding would be such a perfect fit for my style, aesthetic and personality—totally convinced we are long lost friends.
Kellie and her bridesmaids began the day getting ready at the beautiful Arbor Hill Inn, a stunning antique-filled, floral wallpapered gem in La Porte Indiana. A short distance away in New Carlisle, their wedding and reception took place at a family-run farm turned wedding venue dating back to the eighteen hundreds, The Homestead 1835.
At the reception, in authentic Harry Potter style, guests were sorted into four different houses (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, + Slytherin) and enjoyed the wedding feast while the Harry Potter soundtrack echoed in the background (as a total Harry Potter addict, I was in heaven!)
As golden hour began to emerge, we snuck off to the edge of the property for some more couple photos. We most definitely did trudge through the fields and Kellie shocked us all by going into the field completely barefoot (have I mentioned I have the coolest couples?) Later on, we were greeted with one of the most epic sunsets I’ve ever witnessed and I’m totally obsessed with the photos that resulted.
I can’t even express how amazing the whole day was and how lucky I feel to have some of the coolest people choosing me to document their day – letting me create some of my own magic.
WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY
“I simply don’t have enough words to say how absolutely amazing these photos are. I knew they would be phenomenal based on all of your previous work, but our photos are beyond expectation. The day went by so quickly, but now we have a way to authentically look back. Every new photo I looked at became my new favorite. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!” – Kellie
“5 stars isn’t enough. The saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” but theirs tell whole novels. They are the perfect mix of professional and fun. I truly could not recommend them more. We are so lucky to have had them shoot our wedding. I wish we could get married all over again just to see how amazing the photos would be.” – Chris
