The Engagement
Everyone has been asking me who I’m going to get to photograph my own wedding. This was by far the easiest aspect of wedding planning for me because being a wedding photographer, I knew I wanted to hire someone I looked up to in the industry. Someone I knew would capture what I wanted and that I wouldn’t have to worry about missing moments or not delivering what I would expect. Someone I trusted, fully.
That someone was Texas Wedding Photographer Lauren Apel of Lauren Apel Photo.
I’ve followed her work from when I first started getting into photography, before I even got into weddings. Her moody style and ability to capture authentic moments drew me in. It’s remained my absolute favorite ever since.
In April, we flew out to Texas to meet up with her for our engagement session. It was SO strange being on the other side, being photographed. At the beginning of the evening Lauren was giving posing advice and pretty much saying verbatim to me what I always say to my clients to get them comfortable. That right there pretty much confirmed that I couldn’t have picked anyone more prefect for us. That it was meant to be.
I’m so in love with everything she does and so thrilled with our engagement photos. I can’t wait to see how amazing our wedding photographs are going to be.
If we lived closer we would most definitely be friends. That right there is a key component in picking who you will be spending the majority of your wedding day with, someone you actually like.
